About the Company

We are pleased to introduce you to Chora Gas Chemical Products Factory (CGCPF), one of Ethiopia’s pioneering industrial manufacturers. Established in 1938 E.C. in Addis Ababa under the name SEDE, the company was founded by four foreign nationals and one Ethiopian citizen with an initial capital of just 1,500 birrs. The factory initially focused on producing:

• Oxygen and Acetylene gases
• Sedex Bleach
• Wax products

Company Evolution

In 1976 E.C., CGCPF became a government-owned enterprise under the National Chemical Corporation, focusing on production and inventory, while procurement and sales were managed centrally. After the dissolution of the corporation in 1985 E.C., we gained full operational autonomy under the Public Enterprise Service Authority (PESA).

In line with the government’s privatization program under Proclamation No. 146/1998, our factory was fully transferred to private ownership and is now proudly administered by AMAGA Private Limited Company.

Today, CGCPF is registered and licensed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry under Ethiopian trade law. We are committed to building a world-class, value-driven organization and are currently implementing a fully integrated ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System to enhance our operations and ensure the highest standards.

Job Purpose

The Junior Accountant will assist with day-to-day accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role supports:

• Accurate bookkeeping
• Record-keeping
• Reporting to ensure financial transparency

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system
• Process accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts
• Maintain documentation and filing of financial records
• Support audits and tax filings
• Assist in budget tracking and expense management
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance
• 0–2 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS or local standards)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, QuickBooks)
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
